In March 2007, Bell School started a project called ICC, linking classrooms of our school with classrooms in other nations. The project is aimed at linking classrooms in over 10 countries, but right after the first weeks of inititation, we received confirmation from schools in 11 countries including the USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Sri Lanka and Mongolia... all very eager to make the association with Bell School. The ICC Project is an excellent opportunity for our teachers and students to interact with foreign schools. The communication will take place in different forms - bulk airmail of childrens’ letters, drawings and essays, live video conferences between the classes and e-mails through the school. Our staff will discuss with the staff of the other schools about content to prepare, and information will be shared fortnightly or monthly. The first to collaborate with us was Creative Spark from the USA, an organization that links 8 American schools.
This project will continue to expand to include more schools and classes, connecting our students with students in different cultures and across different continents. The mission of the project is to enhance our students' communication skills and also their knowledge of the world by understanding and respecting foriegn cultures and lifestyles. If you are from a school which is not listed here and wish to join hands with us in this project, please do not hesitate to send us an email. |
